Stardew Valley Surprise: Update 1.7 is Coming
🌾 Stardew Valley Surprise: Update 1.7 is Coming!
Get ready, Stardew Valley fans! It seems like there's no slowing down for this beloved farming simulator. While we don't have a firm release date yet, developer Eric "ConcernedApe" Barone confirmed that a major update – 1.7 – is on the horizon.
The news came as a surprise to many during the Stardew Valley Symphony of Seasons concert in Seattle, later solidified with a post on X (formerly Twitter).
With it being a numbered update, we can expect something substantial, similar to the exciting content added in 1.6 last March.
🌟 What We Know (So Far!)
As with any major update, details are still scarce. Barone hasn't dropped any teasers about what to expect in 1.7. However, based on previous updates, we can anticipate a range of new features and content:
- ✅ New crops and items
- ✅ Expanded farm areas or map sections
- ✅ Additional quests or storylines
- ✅ New characters and relationships
- ✅ Improved graphics, sound, or gameplay mechanics
🎮 Balancing Act – Stardew Valley vs. Haunted Chocolatier
This news comes with a bit of context. Barone's next big project is the standalone title "Haunted Chocolatier," announced in 2021. He previously stated he wouldn't work on any more Stardew Valley updates until Haunted Chocolatier was finished.
To ease fan concerns, Barone clarified on X that the 1.7 update "will not hinder Haunted Chocolatier development." This is reassuring news for both Stardew Valley and Haunted Chocolatier fans!
