My wife and I are huge fans of Stellaris. We spend countless hours building galactic empires, forging alliances, and waging (hopefully) glorious wars. However, since the release of 4.0, things haven't been so stellar. Desyncs plague our multiplayer games, turning what should be a fun cooperative experience into a frustrating mess.

We've tried to keep the faith, but it's getting harder and harder. We even enjoy Anno 1800, but that behemoth of a game takes forever to install! So, we find ourselves asking: are there other cooperative 4X games out there that offer a similar experience without the Stellaris woes?
