Earlier this month, we introduced new ways to experience Google AI on Android, enhancing safety, self-expression, and device integration. Today, we're excited to announce seven new Android features designed to improve your daily life. Check them out:
1. Edit Sent Messages
You can now edit sent messages in Google Messages. Just tap and hold a message to fix typos, add words, or clarify your message within 15 minutes of sending.
2. Easily Share Hotspots and Switch Video Calls Between Devices
Instantly connect your Android tablet or Chromebook to your phone’s hotspot with one tap. Also, switch devices during a Google Meet call seamlessly by tapping the Cast icon.
3. New Emoji Kitchen Combos
Enjoy new Emoji Kitchen sticker combinations. Get creative by combining emojis like the disco ball and headphones to share fun stickers with friends via Gboard.
4. Control Smart Home Devices from Your Home Screen
Add the Google Home Favorites widget to your phone’s home screen. This lets you manage your smart home devices, like adjusting the thermostat or turning off the lights, with a single tap.
5. Manage Smart Devices from Your Wear OS Watch
Use the Google Home Favorites tile on your Wear OS smartwatch to control your smart home devices directly from your wrist. Unlock doors, dim lights, or adjust the temperature with ease.
6. More Payment Options with Google Wallet on Wear OS
Now you can use PayPal with Google Wallet on your Wear OS watch in the U.S. and Germany. Make secure payments without needing your phone.
7. Digital Car Key for More Vehicles
Digital car key support is expanding to select MINI, Mercedes-Benz, and Polestar vehicles. Lock, unlock, and start your car with your phone, and share your digital key with others.
These new features aim to make your everyday interactions with Android devices more convenient and enjoyable.
